A Drop of Blood

It was fall. Not the onset of fall, when the leaves were just starting to become their true color; it was mid October. There was a tall American girl with curly red hair that was walking down an unfamiliar street in school uniform that was obviously foreign to her.
     It would be good for her, her parents said, to stay with her aunt for a while. So here she was, walking alone on an empty street in upper-class London after a long first day of heave, indecipherable British accents, uncomfortable shoes that were apart of her school uniform, and an unfamiliar culture.

The Other Side of the MountianA concentrated beam of light floods over the horizon, spreading out in all directions as its source begins to show itself in the early dawn light. The light has no bounds, no limits, but that's where shadows come from. When the light make its way over a mountain, it cannot see the other side, the side that is cast in its wake, as dark as the second side of the moon, that's where our story starts. Down at the base of that great mountain that is bathed in sunlight lies a city that on one knows is there. There is no light there, only a shadow cast by the mountains on either side.
